Going through some old photos and putting them “out there”. This is the third in a new series of posts that is going to highlight some photos and the area where they were taken. Most of these posts are going to be for areas that are easily accessible from Raleigh, NC.
Up today is Asheville. Like Currituck Beach lighthouse, it is a bit further out from Raleigh. Being about four hours away, it’s more than a day trip. Not a problem however, since it’s a fun place to hang around. The city is very walkable and you can cover the main stretch in a few hours. There are plenty of small shops to stop in an increase that time.
Time things right and you can find festivals and events that happen throughout the year. The main one is Bele Chere held every July.
Some come for the arts or events. Some others come for the breweries. The city boasts roughly 11 breweries. With more planning to open soon. Sadly Craggie Brewery shut down the last year, but there are rumors of it trying to reopen under a different name by the employees.
A more detailed post covering the specific items is planned for the future.
